“This day is significant to me only for one reason, it was the last day I stood with aunty LaDonna Earthside, savoring the last of our days on sacred Mauna Kea.

I never got too much time with you aunty and I grieve that deeply, but like I said to you in that letter @sara_sandoval7g read to you, I feel like we already were in heaven together on this day in 2019. We already been to the heavens of Mauna Kea with our beloved Kanaka Maoli.

I wanna remember this as I fall asleep, remember the light of belief in your eyes when we walked there after our drill and you said they would win.

I wanna remember how hard we laughed when we were getting dolled up also wondering if the national guard was coming any moment or not 🤣

Laughing waiting for @hawanemusic to finish ironing her skirt for our once-ina-lifetime photo shoot, I’m so glad @hawanemusic made it a moment…

You left us a big example aunty, you left us clear directions, you left us a heart full of hope, and I know truly you have never left us. You are deeply missed.

Praying that you look over us, the children and the elders here too for the many battles ahead. All the love.
