BRAIDED PRAYERS

Today our paddlers met the runners coming down from the Trinity. We had our relatives lead that run along their territory and our prayer from the McCloud River was braided with theirs for our waters. We spent a beautiful afternoon on the water chanting “salmon back, land back” and watching our young ones do things for the first time. Our relatives from @sogoreatelandtrust met up with us at the village for an incredible dinner that @niriaalicia mom made for us. Chief Caleen reminded us of the importance of working together and not letting stress get the best of us and that helped settle our hearts from all the challenges and obstacles we’ve been faced with this year. We are going to sleep well fed and ready to receive the horses and set off on our run down the the Cow Creek confluence where we hope our salmon will one day swim up through to spawn on our river once again!
