A message from @puacase

For all who recognize the Winter Solstice and conduct your rituals, prayers, and traditions, the seven nights of family prayer and reflections around the light of the kukui nut and candle is something we’ve done as a halau and ‘ohana for years to lift us beyond the stresses of this time of year and to ground us in traditional foods, moon phases and prayers in our language.

Today on this day, Dec 21 we ask that you join us in support and solidarity, in sharing an offering of prayer, chant, song or dance for the waters of O’ahu. I will be lifting my offering of chant at 12 today at Manaua to Mauna Kea, where thousands of collective prayers reside and asking for those prayers to flow like the waters poured from a bamboo to the waters of O’ahu then to all waters everywhere. May our waters of Kane and Kanaloa flow like a gushing stream, like bubbling springs, waters we will forever be able to drink, waters filled with energy, and vibration, waters that are life giving, water that is life!

Please share a video or photo today water drinkers, water protectors and tag @kaohewai and @protectmaunakea from wherever you are. Our waters are connected by the rains that fall, the waters that flow and the oceans that touch every shore. Mahalo nui.
