HR 33 and HCR 41

Aloha ʻāina kākou, regarding HR 33 and HCR 41, “Convening a Working Group to Develop Recommendations for a Governance and Management Structure for Mauna Kea,” we agree that Maunakea needs a new management entity. We support House Speaker Saiki’s call on the University of Hawaiʻi to cease its work to extend the master lease.

We will monitor both resolutions carefully to see whether they gain traction. If hearings are scheduled, they will be opportunities for our community to make our voices heard. We urge everyone to remain vigilant and prepared as we remain committed to protect Maunakea.
