He pala Mauna a Wākea i luna

I went to top of the Mauna today and everything in my heart is now at peace. The sound of the pū brought me home to body in a way that only that very vibration can. The frequency of my sisters voice chanting with mine aligned my spine and straightened my hips. The voices of the people I love resounding off of the hillsides we love together secured me to the heights and rooted me to the depths.

Sometimes the human realm can be so overwhelming. I go to the land when I need to remember my sacred commitments, when I need to commune with my kūpuna, and when I need to lean all the way into my own mana. So today I give thanks for the ‘āina we come from and the ‘Ohana I come from.

I give thanks for Mauna Kea and all that she is and will always be.

He pala Mauna a Wākea i luna.
