WINNEMEM TIME

There is clock time, there is POC time, there is even ndn time but Winnemem time is a whole other time.

For those of you who’ve rolled with the #winnememwintu tribe you know what we mean. Yesterday we set out to depart at 9am on the paddle section and you can imagine what it takes to break down camp and move our 50-60 journeyers, elders, animals and children. We departed at 4pm laughing and in good Spirits following little Chief not sure if we were going to make it on time to meet the house boat. We had Netchi paddle for the first time and he even jumped in to help the youth who had tipped over in the traditional dug out canoes. The water in the lake is very warm, low and dirty but we must continue no matter what.

Just as we were pulling in we found our friends on the house boat pulling in right on time with our paddlers then we realized, Winnemem time is really just the perfect time.
