Why Indigenous Consent is Important
Mahalo nui to @eapono_hawaii for providing clarity on consent regarding the TMT Project. There are individuals and organizations working everyday to ensure that updates and calls to action can be generated at any time. Mahalo to all who have answered the call to participate in the Section 106 consultation process and to those who have signed the NSF form builder to let the National Science Foundation know that it would be totally unwise to fund the TMT here in Hawai'i. Know that @mkea.info is one of many others committed to spread the message, share information and to be visible for Mauna Kea everyday. Mauna Kea Wear Wednesday is very Wednesday, we have KŪKULU exhibits for Mauna Kea at UC Santa Barbara, New York University, Nanakuli Public Library, a new exhibit at Hemenway Hall at UH Mānoa, and five locations throughout Kohala, Hawaii. Standing Above the Clouds featuring the stance for Mauna Kea just premiered in Canada winning the Social Impact Award and our KŪKULU CD is up for a NA HOKU HANOHANO Award for compilation CD and we have much more coming up. We must stay visible, remain committed to the protection of our sacred mountain. For all standing for places, water, rights and traditions, stay strong! We have not given our consent! Eō!
