25th Anniversary of the San Diego Asian Film Festival

We had the honor of showing “Standing Above the Clouds” at the San Diego Asian Film Festival in November.

Mahalo to these words from Taupou Samoa Cultural Arts who co-presented the film with us:

Directed by Jalena Keane-Lee, this beautiful and powerful film offers a profound glimpse into the heart and soul of the Native Hawaiian community. It showcases how cultural practices, sisterhood, and a deep sense of belonging have kept them steadfast in the face of adversity. The touching stories throughout the film speak to the strength of their spirit and the unbreakable bond of community and their kuleana (responsibility) as indigenous peoples to protect their sacred mountain and lands. We stand in solidarity with our indigenous brothers and sisters, and we are here to help support and amplify their voices and their stories. Their resilience and love for their land and culture inspire us all to nurture and protect the bonds that hold us together. #KūKiaiMauna #Kuleana ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
