Na Kea ko‘u ho‘ohihi
When I am phasing into wholeness, I place grace in my moments in the shadows and my moments in the light. We learn from our ancestors’ relationship with the moon that every phase has a function. The moon guides the ebb and flow of the ocean tides, when to plant and when to fish, when to go into ceremony, and when to rest. When I lived close to the Mauna, I saw the shift in the seasons in the shift of the sunrise and the moon set. My connection to the moon and to the Mauna deepened watching the way they sang to one another nightly. Through the transition from winter to summer, the moon traveled from one side of her to the other like she wanted to illuminate every part of her ancient body. The way the elements want to see one another shine, the way they help one another grow, the way they give life with one another, can teach us all so much about what community really means. The earth lives in sacred community with everything. Every thing and every one has a purpose and a function that brings offerings to the balance of life. Last night I looked at the earth that is my body and how every element I carry has a function and a purpose. To bring sacred offerings of balance to my body is to move in sacred community with me. My inner sun and inner moon rise and set over the mountain that is my womb just like the sun and moon that I see with my eyes. Everything in me wants to see me shine just like the sun and moon does - and that makes everything in me want to see you all shine. The revelations deepen as I open to the way light travels across the sky within and without.
